Donna Griffit is feeling betrayed in Philadelphia, PA. ·
On the night of November 9-10, 1938, Nazi-organized mobs attacked Jewish communities across Germany and Nazi-annexed territories, including Austria. They burned synagogues, ransacked Jewish homes and smashed the windows of thousands of Jewish-owned businesses. Jews were killed. Police arrested about 30,000 Jewish men, and most were sent to concentration camps. We remember it as Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass.
This Sunday, November 8, on the eve of the 88th anniversary of Kristallnacht, a group plans to gather in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square for what it calls a “Boycott Ride.” Its flyer singles out six Jewish-owned restaurants and says “these Zionist establishments must go.”
Must go? Who gave anyone the right to decide which of their neighbors belong in Philadelphia?
The history is why those words land the way they do. And calling this “anti-Zionism” doesn’t change what the flyer asks people to do. When you put Jewish-owned businesses on a list and say they “must go,” I’m going to call that what it is. Antisemitism.
If I were in Philly this weekend, I’d be on an eating spree. I’d start with lunch and see how many of these places I could get to. If you’re there, please show them some love. Go in for a meal, bring a friend, or order in. If you’re out of town like me, buy a gift card if you can.
And wherever you are, check in on your Jewish friends and neighbors. When this comes up in your own circles, please speak up. It matters that we hear it from you, too.

Listen closely, Philly “boycott” riders. Your pathetic little hate parade is about to cost you everything. You wanted to find out? You’re about to.
You targeted six Jewish-owned businesses—including a mac and cheese shop—slapped a “must go” label on them, and deliberately timed your stunt for the eve of Kristallnacht. Did you think you were being clever? You just handed over the proof of motive on a silver platter.
The National Jewish Advocacy Center (@NJACLaw) isn’t just watching; they are actively preparing to dismantle you. They have already sent enforcement letters to the AG, DA, and Police Commissioner explicitly reminding them which criminal statutes apply to your actions and handing them the proof of motive.
To the organizers: you’ve been served official preservation notices. Litigation is fully anticipated, and if you think deleting your messages, route plans, photos, or edit histories will save you, think again—destroying relevant evidence will lead to severe court sanctions. And don’t bother trying to hide those cowardly post edits anyway; we already have the original screenshots and we are eagerly handing them over.
Ride your bikes. Wave your signs. But the second one of you crosses the line into criminal threats or vandalism, you are done. Mark Goldfeder has confirmed that organized lawyers and volunteers will be standing right there on-site waiting for you, building a litigation-grade record. There will be no “he-said/she-said” disputes this time.
We are done tolerating antisemites. You want to dish out the hate? Prepare for the legal consequences. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Game on.
