In 2012, the Islamic Center of Greater Kansas City (ISCKC) and 350 of its members petitioned President Obama to gut the 1st amendment and impose blasphemy laws on American citizens. They claimed that violence across the Islamic world sparked by outrage over a film required further action, even here.
From their petition, which they described on their website as a petition “to establish a law against insulting one’s religion” (blasphemy law):
“We condemn the violence and feel that, in spite of the First Amendment of the U. S. Constitution, action may be necessary to pass such a bill or, at least, censure such actions in order to calm the current situation as well as prevent future re-occurrences......
...Everyone respects freedom of speech and the First Amendment in general, however, when freedom of speech results in defaming and insulting others and provokes the killing of innocent people, it should be outlawed. In light of the recent situation, the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City hopes you may take up this cause and urge other representatives to do the same.”
Note the position Islam always swings in from, because it’s completely at odds with Western laws, norms and freedoms. If people insult Islam, they won’t be able to control their anger and violence will occur; if women aren’t covered up, Muslim men won’t be able to control themselves and SA will occur. Their inability to control their worst natures is always someone else’s fault and we’re expected to accommodate this?!?
The man in the video is Mohamed Kohia, Egyptian born board member of the ISCKC and (now retired) professor of physical therapy at Rockhurst University in KC. He is on record more recently for praising the Oct. 7th attacks, calling them a “miracle” and a “drill for what is to come”.
The ISCKC is also a veritable compound, having purchased nearly a square mile over the years, including a church and the pastor’s home, where they’ve hosted some of the most questionable characters in Islamic radicalism in the US in the past 30 years. Many outright terrorists.
My question is, why is the ISCKC still here? Why isn’t this Islamic center under full investigation? And why do American citizens have to put up with this in our midst?
