DFW Airport was ready to install dedicated Islamic foot-washing stations in Terminal D.
Governor Abbott saw it, called it exactly what it is, illegal religious favoritism at a government-owned facility and immediately ordered a review of state grants to both DFW and Houston’s IAH. He also referred them to the feds.
Hours later the airport “accelerated its review” and decided the project suddenly “would not deliver the originally anticipated operational benefits.”
Funny how fast those benefits disappear when the money is on the line.
This is what actual leadership looks like. No special stations. No preferential treatment. No rewriting public facilities for one group while everyone else waits in the same line.
Abbott didn’t issue a strongly worded statement. He went after the funding. That’s how you stop this nonsense.
